Our History

How Nandi Proteins evolved

 
Nandi Proteins Ltd was originally set up in 2001 as a spin-out from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.
 
We are proud to have built a commercial business to specialise in sales, marketing, intellectual property and licensing of protein technology in food ingredients.

Our egg and dairy protein technology is now being successfully used for a range of applications, helping household names with food production and testing on a factory scale.

 
Our objective was to establish ourselves as a market leader in the field of protein technology, patented processes and know-how to improve the functional properties of common proteins found in whey, egg and soy.
 
Our technology is based on the work of Nandi Proteins founder, Dr Lydia Campbell. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry and has extensive industrial R&D experience from an influential career with Nestle in Germany, Switzerland and South Africa.
 
We have a patent portfolio to protect the applications of this award winning technology which has been built up over several years.
